LaCIO Project: Accelerating Innovation and Production in Life Science Laser Solutions
The Oxxius team is currently finalizing the LaCIO project is a strategic initiative has significantly increased our production capacity through the integration of advanced manufacturing equipment.

The LaCIO project—short for “Lasers and Combiners for Optical Instrumentation”—, supported by France Relance, had a dual objective:
- to continue driving innovation in high-end illumination systems for life science instruments, helping Oxxius maintain its global leadership in super-resolution microscopy.
- to triple the company’s current production capacity to meet growing volume demands from integrator customers and win new business, especially in other life science segments such as flow cytometry and DNA sequencing.
“The acquisition of a state-of-the-art production robot has allowed us to double our manufacturing output. It enables us to handle demand peaks, reduce production costs, and ensure consistent product quality,” explains Thierry Georges, President of Oxxius.
In parallel, the project has led to the development of new products and a notable increase in the power of our DPSS (diode-pumped solid-state) lasers.
“Thanks to new crystals and a cutting-edge assembly process for our monolithic laser cavities, we’ve boosted power across our entire DPSS product range. Today, Oxxius lasers lead the world in power performance,” adds Thierry Georges.
Energy-efficient, more powerful, and highly reliable, our lasers have set new global benchmarks in laser efficiency.
Oxxius is the only French company offering continuous visible laser sources specifically designed for optical instrumentation in life sciences. With our advanced products and market expansion strategy, Oxxius has become a reference in microscopy and is now growing in larger market segments like cytometry and DNA sequencing.
