Oxxius receives ISO-9001 certification
With the rapid growth of biophotonics, there is a renewed need for compact and user-friendly blue laser sources. Until recently, the standard solution for blue lasers was to use an Argon-ion laser. However, the gas laser technology presents severe constraints that restrict its widespread use and its integration into convenient systems. The market has thus long been waiting for a new generation of blue laser modules.

In recent years, a number of new solid-state approaches to blue lasers have been put forward. Because of their solid-state technology, they are promising in terms of size, long-term stability and power requirements; some of them are being proposed as commercial products. These new laser architectures do, however, suffer from several drawbacks in terms of performance and assembly process.
Oxxius has developed an original technology, the Alignment-free Monolithic Resonator (AMR), which has been applied to blue laser light generation. It is used in the SLIM-473, a 473-nm continuous-wave laser module.
The SLIM-473 is the first product based on the SLIM product platform and aims at setting a new price-to-performance standard. It offers single-frequency operation at a power up to 50 mW and is available in two configurations:
